Japan Impact Lausanne 2014
Polytechnique Federal School of Lausanne
For the 4th time, the dojo of Clarens introduced zazen in the midst of this convention dedicated to Japanese mangas and heroes.
A significant number of workshops were also open to the public : horigami, kirigami, ikebana, taiko, sumo, shiatsu etc. not to mention the games: mahjong, go, their stands were packed nearly without interruption. This traditional glimpse of Japan stood next to the virtual modern world of fun, frilly, swords, heroes, mops pink, blue, orange... Chains, hoods, helmets, weapons decay .... Everything circulated through these large alleys, swirling a gaily-coloured crowd in an endless 2 days rolling wave.
In the midst of this merry hubbub, zazen found its place. Youth organizers stressed, parents accompanying their toddlers, slightly less young in a spiritual quest ... And in order to meet the usual concern : "How long will it last ? ", we experienced that ½ hour introduction to zazen satisfied both those who wanted to try the experience, as well as the members of the sangha present in the stand. Two people from the group of Conthey and even a monk from the neighboring France came to help us.
We all found the experience rewarding and interesting, it was a bit of fresh air in our practice, which we offered as a fragant lotus flower !
Three cheers for Japan-Impact 2015!
